This is what happens when you are just partyline. You vote for your party no matter what. II feel this is what is going on in some minds: "I kinda agree with what he/she/they are saying, but the rest of my party is against it. I'll just go against it, G-d forbid I am not part of the 'Crowd' " Something like that where they just decide to go party because its not worth the effort to defend your actions and it is easier to just go along with everybody else.
