The red, green, and blue cables are component cables for high definition video. Like Speed said it doesn't look like your reciever supports component video so youy have to use the red, white, and yellow composite jacks.

This will allow you to add another section of component cables to the microsoft cable which would make it longer so it can connect to your tv so you can view it in high definition and you just keep the sound running into the recivier. Also when you get the component cables running into your tv there is a little switch on the cable to change it to HD. Good luck I hope that made sense.
