| if you're going through college networks, then there's no telling how many routers it has to go through, not to mention filtering and/or monitoring firewalls. college networks are about as efficient as roads in lower manhattan. if one piece of equipment is at a focal point, then random load will max it out and force it to hold packets in memory or even drop them. that'll cause loss and backward traffic. then after a while it would be able to sh!t them all out and response would taper back down again
