8800GT uses about 110W, which is less than what an 8800GTS uses (~140W). 8800GTS uses 1 PCI-e power connector, so the GT will as well.

and yes, it will use one 16x lane

IMHO there's no reason to get a fancy version. the plain jane 512MB for ~$260 is a steal
