This holiday season is the biggest in gaming history, with so many highly anticipated games coming out, it’s easily getting complicated, and expensive, if you want to check them all out. Here’s our top ten list of games you must play - either buy, rent or borrow - this holiday season. 10: BlackSite: Area 51 
BlackSite: Area 51 is one of those games with a lot of potential, from the gorgeous visuals, to scary settings (Area 51, doh!), and of course, a ton of creepy aliens to shoot . Release date: November 14. 9: Kane & Lynch: Dead Men 
A mercenary and a psychopath escape from prison and team up to fight “The Seven”, a vicious gang. The co-op based games offers fully destructible environments and a relentless AI, for not to talk about the visuals. Release date: November 20. 8: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 
The Call of Duty franchise finally moves on to modern warfare, and does it in style. True to the franchise, the game has a compelling singleplayer campaign and features a intense multiplayer part. The biggest problem for CoD4 is that there is stiff competition from many other shooters, which is why Call of Duty 4 might get a bit lost among the bigger titles. 7: Hellgate: London 
The creators of Diablo bring you Hellgate: London, a post-apocalyptic RPG with FPS controls, stunning visuals and compelling story. What more do you want? Release date: Out now! 6: Mass Effect 
Way before its release, Mass Effect has gathered a lot of attention and won several prizes at E3. The action RPG has been in development for a long time at BioWare, and will feature a 40-hour single player campaign, a solid story, great gameplay mechanics and much more. Release date: November 20. 5: Assassin’s Creed 
In Assassin’s Creed, you take the role as Altair, an assassin in Jerusalem during the Crusades, where you’ll be able to fully explore the old city, trying to find the best way of completing your job. The game has true next-gen visuals, physics and AI, and is a must for all Xbox 360 and PS3 owners. Release date: November 13. 4: Half Life 2: The Orange Box 
One of the two games on the list that’s already in stores. The Orange Box includes Half Life 2 Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 and Portal, ensuring there’s something for everyone. And in case you haven’t played HL2 or Episode One, both are included in the package. 3: Unreal Tournament 3 
Epic’s multiplayer shooter makes a solid return, this time with more maps, vehicles and weapons, all rendered with the gorgeous Unreal Engine 3. If you’re into multiplayer shooters, UT3 is the biggest frag fest you’ll get this holiday season. Release date: November 19. 2: Crysis 
If you’re a PC gamer, you have certainly heard of Crysis, Crytek’s upcoming Sci-fi shooter. Besides the usual storyline and a tropical setting, Crysis can only be describes as the best looking game ever, provided your hardware is up to the challenge. Release date: November 15. 1: Super Mario Galaxy 
Super Mario Galaxy is already out in Japan, where it’s winning hearts and minds of Wii owners. Mario’s first appearance on the Wii will feature all what we loved from the classic Super Mario 64, and take it to new levels, galactic levels, and will also include multiplayer co-op. Wii owners mark your calendars; release date: November 12.
