Rudy will be important in NY. I think he's the only one who could take the votes from Hildog. He was a popular mayor and that popularity skyrocketed nation-wide after 9-11. In an electoral race, a Republican candidate taking NY woud be huge. A major upset. Like California, it's a state the dems assume they'll always have.
Sadly, I think this may be a "We can win it, but not with the best guy" race.

It could very well be.. though there's still several months left to go... people are again saying that this could be the most important election in our life time (which I think they said for the last two as well heh). I do think it's up there..... its like a battle of Good vs. Evil or something.
