| I bought my BF2142 used, and went through this, so I can tell you exactly what the deal is. When 2142 is installed by the first owner of it, that person sets up an account with a login and password. That login and password are forever tied to that copy of 2142 in the sense that, while a user can login with it and change something like the password, EA offers no recourse to people who don’t know what the previous owners login information was.
So, if you can get it used for cheap, then great, but you need to make sure that the seller is able to pass on the login info for it, or you are wasting your money.
