generally in the past they have had release dates for final fantasy games near the holidays/after then push it back, so spring '10 would be my guess as well

bad news everyone. the US isn't seeing this released until April 2010.... but Japan gets it this year.

So we still have a year+ to wait.

The main page for the Japanese site has a count-down timer for a new trailer coming in just under two days (there's new screen-shots as well). Also, the demo will be out for the game on April 16th with Advent Children Complete (in Japan :P).

Waiting another year + for this is...very sad. Usually the japanese game will come out, then, what... six months later the US versions come out? bah!

It'll be worth it Fuzzy; its worth the wait.

The whole shenanigans about the demo being packaged with the Blu-ray Advent movie is kind of BS, stupid way to nickel and dime people.

Excited for the new trailer though, little over a day.

oh i know it will be, but i was really hopeing to play this this year

looks like to get some of my RPG fixins i'm going to get Valkyrie chronicles or something of the like. Is FF VS XIII having the same "delays?"

Valkyrie Chronicles I heard is pretty damn awesome, so I would recommend that for a RPG fix.

To answer the second part of your post:

'Fabula Nova Crystallis' or 'The New Tale of the Crystal' is the umbrella term used to describe three Final Fantasy XIII games, based on various worlds and different characters, each game will be "ultimately based on and expand upon a common mythos." - but are not directly related to one another.
'Crystals that lead the world towards the future' is essentially the backbone idea which connects the three games together, each using this concept and creating a unique interpretation of the mythos.
By gaining inspiration from the mythology, these independent Final Fantasy XIII titles evolve uniquely. The Fabula Nova Crystallis project is not a collection of sequels or ports but several original titles that exist alongside each other.

More information is known about FFXIII than Versus at this point, and Agito (3rd picture) is for the PSP afaik.
