Holy CRAP! That looks awesome. I wonder what exactly is has to do with Batman, other than the name of the Asylum. Going to put this on the watch list, that's for sure. Must upgrade the system before then as well.

    Hmmm

A quote from their message boards:

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, developed by Rocksteady Studios, the player assumes the role of Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the imprisoned super-villains have set a trap and an immersive combat gaming experience unfolds. With an original script penned by Emmy Award-winning Batman writer Paul Dini, the game brings the universe of DC Comics’ detective to life with stunning graphics.

That looks spectacular. So much like all of the Spider-man games, comic book games are much better when they are not directly tied to a movie. lets hope this holds up to that as well.

According to Danish print mag Game Reactor, Rocksteady’s rather spiffing looking Arkham Asylum will see Batman’s capabilities increase throughout the game, not too dissimilar to the mechanics of an RPG.

“As in a role-playing game, Batman will possess an experience system whereby it is possible to open up for new abilities and new gadgets,” says the piece [translated from Danish].

“Batman will need to use a large number of said gadgets as in many of the game’s difficult encounters as he won’t always be the strongest.”

Look out for our interview with Rocksteady which is hopefully coming later in the month.

Eidos will publish Batman: Arkham Asylum later in the year.

I've been avoiding because I figured they will screw it up somehow. I just watched the trailer. It is awesome the got the cartoon voice actor to do the voice for the game. I may buy it for that reason alone.

Yeah I just got done watching the newer trailer which actually showed some gameplay action (which looked good). The VO's for this are surprisingly good for Batman/Commissioner/Joker... someone said Mark Hamil did one of them, but I can't confirm that (or at least the guy sounds like him lol).

Has anyone played the LEGO Batman game? That always looked like harmless fun.

yea, according to imdb Mark Hamill is the voice of Joker and Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman. If the gameplay can match the voice acting, it should be a killer game.
