No Online Functionality for Ghostbusters on the PC

Well, the headline isn't completely accurate, as you have to have an internet connection when you first start the game for a authentication process, but other than that the PC version of the upcoming Ghostbusters game lacks all other online features such as mutli-player, co-op and downloadable content (DLC) that will be present in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Ecto-Web.org (great name) has the information:

On Friday I'll post a little bit of information on the DRM found on the PC version (yes, it has DRM), and some random information on what I found on the PC disc and what the PC's readme file tells you that you need to know before buying that version. It's rather crummy that Atari is forcing the DRM on us PC gamers, while also giving us the stripped down version - no online multiplayer co-op (or any online activities at all!) and no downloadable content for the PC version - while PS3 and Xbox gets it all! Apparently Atari forgets that PC gaming INVENTED those features!

When is the last time a single player game with no multi-player capability was actually a successful game?

Tons. Oblivion, for example... but what I don't understand is why they'd strip down just the PC version. It's not like it was designed to be single player. You're supposed to play a 4 man game all by yourself? What a stinky pile of crap. pass.

Bioshock was what, end of 2007 and Oblivion is even older.

But I agree with Vega. Perhaps they thought it would be too similar in gameplay to that of something like L4D that is 4 player team based. But, I would love to play this at least like co-op to beat the missions.

Ok, well damn. Who would thing a gaming community website would so readily be able to come up with some easy examples.
