The Evil Within - Recommended System Requirements (Bethesda)

    Don't worry, he's safe

I thought this was rather interesting

Bethesda Reveals Minimum System Specs For The Evil Within

As a recap, the recommended system requirements include a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 8, an Intel Core i7 processor with four cores or more, and 4 GB of RAM. The game also needs an Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent GPU with 4 GB of VRAM, a high-speed Internet connection and a Steam account for activation. PC gamers will need 50 GB of HDD space to install the game; only 41 GB will be consumed after installation.
Well, those are some pretty stout requirements. 4 GB video memory?

Well I pass with the minimum with a GeForce GTX 760 4GB. That's pretty stiff reqs though.

did you really just ask if Bo has his cwp?

he shot his name into the application form from 1000 yards... while on a Segway... One handed with his USP in .45ACP... While doing pushups AND eating his sandwich...

Seems like overkill just to avoid any complaints from people whose system is not up to par. Those requirements quoted are the recommended system specs. The minimum specs are more reasonable.

    I'm sporting a 660 GTX TI 2GB. I'm only 2 years behind!

I also have Graig's Superclock GTX 260 that I never put in anything (lol), and a pair of 9800 GTs that are book ends. I should do something with them. Not sure what. Make rocker panels out of them

Re: The Evil Within - Recommended System Requirements (Bethesda)

As we get closer to the launch of Bethesda's The Evil Within, reports are beginning to surface that the PC version of the survival horror game may be locked at 30 frames per second, supposedly just like the console versions.
That's nice. Have a big PC, still get the console experience. lul

Motion pictures are at 24fps. As long as your frame-rates don't drop BELOW 30fps, I don't see an issue, here. If you have some uber system that averages 150-200fps on newer games, your eyes really aren't getting a benefit. The problem is, when there's a thousand moving objects on the screen at once, and the frame-rates drop below around 30.

Re: The Evil Within - Recommended System Requirements (Bethesda)

locked at 30fps is dumb. likely done that way to keep the "experience" the same. if you don't have a monitor with higher than 60hz then you don't know what you're missing. Do people not remember one of the main reasons people didn't move from CRT to LCD back in the day - not just the ghosting issue? but because they looked like crap compared to the more typical 90-100hz CRT monitors (though more mainstream would still be 75hz). I have 144hz... and it's a night and day difference between that and 60hz. going from that to 30hz/fps is just.... silly.
