PC games running on a Mac

A while ago Mac released its new range of computers with intel cpu's. I love macs, they are just so quick.

This new break-through is great and has released a whole new market for mac.

1) Well to get PC games working on it you need to make sure your Mac has an Intel cpu, not one of the power pc's.

2) Download Crossover, get the 14 day free trial, and if you like it, then buy it.

3) Download steam and open it in Crossover. then, download all of the games.

4) Play all of the games that you want. Here is a video running Counter-strike: Source.

I know there is going to be a lot of negative discussion about macs .

I love Macs. I've had a couple Macs ever since the first release of OS X. I never used Macs before then because OS 9 and previous just sucked nuts. However, OS X is awesome. I'm not going to go into reasons here, but considering OS X is a real UNIX (and Linux is not), there is no reason why WINE wouldn't compile and work on it, really. Crossover is actually just WINE, anyway. The reason why it would depend on Intel over PowerPC is probably related to the fact x86 is little-endian.

shazza loves playing with their D-key!
hmmm... been playing Windows-based games on my MacBook Pro for quite a while (using Bootcamp). Are there any advantages to using Crossover?

the only advantage of crossover is not having to buy a MS Windows license. 3d and so the fps is much better using bootcamp and starting windows in native mode.

However wine (crossover) is fine to lauch small dedicated apps that only run in Windows.
