More Rumors Of Improved MacBook Pros Surfaces

Macrumors is reporting on a story from Apple Insider where speculation is that the long-in-the-tooth design of the MacBook Pro (goes back to 2003!) is about to get a refresh, as is the MacBook.

Quote:
Appleinsider points out that the MacBook has not seen a major case redesign since its introduction in May 2006. Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro continues to share a very similar design to the Aluminum PowerBook G4 which was introduced in 2003.

The new designs are expected to accompany the Montevina platform launch in June of this year. Montevina promises faster front-side bus speeds (1066MHz) over existing models (800MHz) and slightly faster Penryn processors (2.26-3.06GHz).
There is also hope that these new MacBook Pros will have improved graphics capabilities in the form of an Nvidia 9XXX series card. This would be great for gamers and power-users alike who are looking for enough beef to push the latest games on a Mac.

I cant see what they'll be changing much besides the layout and type of keyboard and mouse touchpad.

I have to say I don't like the buttons on the top for the macbook air, I really prefer the ones on the macbook pro, but that could be cause I am biased and have become accustomed to the MBP

otherwise maybe some port moving around? I really hope they don't get rid of the optical drives, cause that would suck.

I hope they improve the speakers or at least output. I've mentioned before that booting in windows, the speakers output sound a lot louder (even at the lowest settings)
