I agree with Dope. DK, bootcamp is free. I wonder what your friends specs are btw?

I always feel Apple almost compared to any other computer brand with the same specs, is equal if not a tad bit more expensive. I love my keyboard, backlit keys, magnetic power cord (I would have tripped and killed my laptop probably a good 250 times by now). I really like the mousepad and the feel compared to some of the slick ones that come on PC laptops. Plus, the screen is super clear and super bright. Not to mention the software kicks ass as well.

Hmm they're back they just changed the product name from the OpenMac to the Open Computer. its a PC with hacked EFI firmware. if any OEM vendors decide to make motherboards with EFi instead of a BIOS then we could all run hackingtoshes without hacking anything.

My favorite project is the ThinkMac, its when they take the centrino based Thinkpad laptops and install OS X on them.

now they're getting raped for using the EFI firmware hax and other software (open source) even though it was non-commercial use only. plus they have no real location.

plus it's dumb in the first place.

I think that's ballsy to put a link to a way to do it yourself by gizmodo, but good investigative work on their part (really using their best resource, the user)

Nah, there's nothing wrong with building one yourself. There's no law that says you can't build your computer to a certain specification.

The only restriction comes if you install OS X on it. The license will not allow it. This doesn't mean it will stop you from installing it, just that you are violating the EULA.

the EULA is not a legal agreement, as you have signed nothing.
