| | | Well, the MBA is rarified air (damn these puns), it's not like everyone is buying them to surf the net (Craig excluded). Niche products don't oppose their model.
A touchscreen UMPC would take advantage of:
larger screen than iPhone
smaller package/price than macbook/air
use of their recently-purchased CPU company
multi-touch with full OSX

| | | I just don't see a big apple market for that sort of thing. I am thinking it would be a big gamble right now for them to do that.

| | | I wonder if Apple ever thought of going after the gaming market. With their ability to boot into Windows and the fact their rigs are essentially PCs now... imagine the Apple Incorporated horsepower backing the gaming segment. It'd be a helluva shot in the arm PC gaming could use.
Of course I can see the machines now... fast, top notch graphics and completely lacking the ability to upgrade. But that would be their problem. It could really jumpstart PC gaming back ahead of consoles.

| | | Well, I think that with Apple's uber-smart marketing savvy, they could release a gaming line a lot of people would buy.
