There appears to be a problem with the iPhone 3G USB Power adapters. A small number of reports involve the metal blades breaking off in power outlets. Details on how to get a free replacement can be found here.

ya i saw that... sucks big time because the USB doesn't charge the phone as much or as quickly as the wall charger does. i'm still going to use it until they come out with the replacements.

I'm on my second one. The first one must have been loose, because it would work intermittently.

If you live by an Apple store they can swap it out, it will be available October 10. If not, order one through the link above and they will send you a replacement and a prepaid label to return the old one.
