Macbook pro

So I think I'm going to buy a Macbook pro tomorrow. I am still torn between the glossy and matte displays. I guess I have to look at them again but the thing is I will be outside and inside as well. I know I will be working in my dorm and in the library and other places but I will also be in the Boston Common which is 10 feet from my front door. Any suggestions? Hopefully I can purchase Photoshop CS3 to get that on as quick as possible.

But how is the mighty mouse? I am looking to buy that since I will need a mouse occasionally. Also how does the Airport Extreme work and will it be compatible with PCs because I will have 3 desktops and 2 laptops on the same network.

if you'll be outside a lot, i would suggest the matte display. I love the glossy indoors, but it can be really bad outside.

ya the airport thing is just a router I think, no?

and get the glossy screen. just keep it clean.

since im having so much fun with the iphone i checked out their laptops last time i was in the apple store in town here...they're put together nicer than anything i've seen with the exception of a few laptops I saw when I went to the Alienware factory.

anyway, i still dont think an apple is for me just yet but i'm open to the lesser of the notebooks because its spec'd out nicely and can run XP...and isn't priced all that high.

maybe when this new OS they're working on comes out I'll look again.

whatever you do, we want pics and a review!

Oh hells yes! I'll post pictures.

Is source compatible with OS X Tiger? It has an 8600 so it should run fairly well if it does.

Apple does make some nice laptops. They are still overpriced considering what hardware is in them.

Don't even think you are going to be gaming on a mac unless you are only playing Blizzard games. You can install Windows on it though, and dual boot to play CS:S. It will handle that fine, but Windows is pretty much a requirement for most decent games.

I didn't want to run either Boot Camp or Parallel so I can live without CS:S on this laptop. It really isn't for gaming though I was just curious. It is mainly for photo, and video editing.

I talked to Frank already about it and he seems to like it but you can give that man a popsicle stick and he'll be happy for a week.

glossy all the way...i was fortunate enough to come across a tax free weekend where i headed to the nearest apple store and bought the newest iMac model... 2.4 Ghz , 2 x 1 GB ram , 20 inch glossy display ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB , 320 G 7200 RPM ...etc.. around $1600 after educational discounts. i love it. i also have an airport extreme router with 802.11 n capabilties, i use the 2.4 Ghz range and i get almost perfect reception two floors above the router in an old thick house.. havent tried putting CS:S on it yet though... im not sure where to begin..do i need a windows OS disk?
