    And So it Begins, the Apple Lawsuits

    In short, Apple has filed suit against HTC for patent infringement, but it's fairly clear after looking over the 20 patents in question that the target is not just HTC, but the Android platform as a whole. I'll let the links below do the talking, as there's a lot to take in with this development.

    most of these are your basic software patents that describe basic types of functionality that shouldn't be patented - like having contextual menus.

    maybe this will be the push that the patent office needs to re-examine their software patent process. but I doubt it.

    I don't blame Apple for protecting their patents, I blame the Patent Office for issuing them.

    They also have to realize that there are many people who have certain skills who will see his as an attack on the open source community... Probably not a good thing.

    they never got anywhere with the iPod lawsuits, they wont get anywhere with an iPhone suit.
