World Of Warcraft On The iPhone...For Real

YouTube - World Of Warcraft (WoW) on the iPhone - real - no vnc

While there have been sketchy rumors in the past that this game could find its way to the iPhone, the video seems believable as it shows the game running within the Vollee client application. Vollee is a company that develops software to allow mobile 3G phones to play CPU intensive PC applications over the network. Their first demonstration in 2008 showed Second Life on a mobile device. The software works by essentially streaming video of the game rather than rendering it by the handset itself
Vollee is an application much like OnLive that pushes content from a capable client machine to a mobile device, therefore allowing the client to do all the intensive graphic work and let the handheld device simply play the video. With an MMO like WoW, this makes perfect sense because you do not need the lowest latency possible to hack 'n slash your way through Azeorath.

so should i be afraid of driving the expressway now? There will, no doubt, be people playing while they drive. Just imagine the increase in road rage when it's combined with raid-rage

    heh...

While I don't see this as a replacement by any means for your desktop or laptop computer, it would be pretty handy when you need to logon to the World to trade out some gear or something.

like craig said i cant see it being functional past a few simple things like trading or maybe like fishing, raiding would be out of the question.
