    GeekTool

Just found this potentially very powerful desktop tool called GeekTool

I haven't figured out how to really really use it yet, but I think this has great upside. Lots of interesting things to do with the program. Many people have created stuff called GeekLets (which I'm also still trying to figure a little more about) that are already done for you.

Here are some examples. You can clearly see how powerful this tool can be. You can also see how creative some people got with it. I particularly like the train and spider man comic. You can find more examples at their screen shot gallery.

it's beyond that, it's like it's embedded or part of the desktop.

Is it magic, does it just feel right? Are your eyes about to explode out of your face?

explain further, because that's how I thought of it originally... but it can't be moved or changed. Icons can go over it. You can't highlight it.

The only way to edit it is in the pref. pane
