BF2 server taken down?

Did you guys take the BF2 server down? Its not showing in my favorites or gamemonitor.

Well, I think I can speak for most of the old-school players.

We appreciate the effort in putting it back up. It was a great server in its heyday, and brought together a great group of guys.

I enjoyed playing on it. It pushed me to get better at my game.

1con, I feel ya bro...even with 30 of us in there, it was rocking.

I think what we should do is adopt a server that we really like. I know the Moongamers folks and think they run their servers much like we always have. We could probably find much of the same experience somewhere, if not there, and continue to play together.

Perhaps we could continue to schedule nights to meet in vent and play together?

I have been getting back into BF2. I seriously hope that the rumors about BF3 are true though.

Yeah I say we cut our losses with BF2. The game is still great, but the community has just moved on for the time being. I really appreciate sR trying to bring it back.

BF3 will hopefully bring it all back! No game has yet been able to compare to BF2 IMO. I think what makes the game is the ability to have a "Squad Leader" and then have squad members SPAWN off them. Its a great way to further encourage TEAM PLAY. Why don't more fps games offer this?

CoD4 was a good break from BF2 and is really fun, but its not even comparable to BF2. Its almost more related to CSS than BF2.

I had an inclination that it might fail because we had lost so many people to other BF2 clans that were still playing in the time that we weren't here. I realized that after that whole possible hacker fiasco that the server was essentially done.
