| | | Comp down for upgrade. Just letting everyone know that I won't be on my main comp until Friday (hopefully), Saturday morning or Monday. I took my machine down yesterday to put in a 500gb drive. While it was down I just decided that since I'm going to reinstall Windows, I might as well order the hardware and install Windows then. I placed the order today with UPS Next Day shipping so the order won't be processed until Thursday morning. If it does get processed Thursday morning, I should still get it by Friday afternoon. Anyway, have fun all!

It's nothing too high-end. It's definitely better than my old system. I already have a 8800GTS card. This just leaves me room to get another one later for SLI and so on.

| | The RAM arrived today and I just ordered it at 2pm yesterday. From California to Texas in one day.
The Motherboard and CPU should arrive tomorrow based on this. I split my order into two separate orders because my debit card has a daily limit of $805. I placed both on the same day, though. This way the first order were clear immediately and the second one would fail until tomorrow morning. It worked out just as I planned and expected.

| | | Dope,
You will love the mobo but I have a word of advice. When you get it place only 1 stick of RAM in the board until you have it up and running and have updated to the latest BIOS version.
When I got my board it wouldn't even POST with 2 sticks of RAM because of a bug in the BIOS. The update resolves this issue. I also read alot of reports about this mobo with earlier versions of the BIOS eating RAM like it was candy.
Mine didn't eat my RAM but it clearly was a problem and I knew the memory I had was good because I had just pulled it from a working system. There are some other updates you can run as well but that is the major one. Oh yeah, grab the latest nvidia drivers from the Nvidia site as usual to resolve a bunch of video issues.
Well I think thats about it... if I think of anything else I'll post it here.
Enjoy

| I have no idea what you're talking about. I got all my parts earlier today and threw it together with the two 1gb sticks and everything booted up flawlessly. I haven't encountered one issue yet. It's really damn solid.
Edit: CPU-Z 1.39 HTML report file
Note:
I haven't tweaked a single thing yet. It's all running stock until I get everything where I want it to be.

| | | Cool, maybe yours didn't have the old BIOS version on it that was buggy.
Glad to hear it worked out of the box.

| | | Thanks. I'm entirely impressed by this set up. It's just awesome. I was playing BF2142 earlier in 1152x864, all settings on the highest possible, using 16xQ CSAA, maximum anistropic filtering, etc. and I had my FPS pegged at 100+ the entire time. It was smooth as hell.
