cod4 -i dont have a key?

hey i tried to play multiplayer on cod4 and it comes up saying i havnt entered my key ,it then tells me where to enter it the problem is i bought it off steam and they didnt send me one! :@

Did you try this?

type "regedit" to bring up the registry.

Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Activision/Call Of Duty 4, and find the value codkey -- Write this down and enter it into you CoD4 game in Multiplayer Options, and you should be all good to go.

Steam > CD/DVD's. There's only a few problems with games now.

I hate discs. The manuals are nice, and Steam provides them to you as well.

I don't have any more room for spindles, boxes, and manuals.

Steam is an excellent solution. Any CD key that Steam uses is always stored in the registry. As long as you know where to look, it's easy to back it up.
