Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

so, anyone else play it yet?

My first impression was that it is amazing. i played it last night in a few doors down the hall because they released it at midnight, and he picked it up.

The game graphics look smoother, and the fretboard+buttons look way cleaner.

The song list is amazing, with over 70% (dont quote me on this) of the songs being the real master tracks, unlike guitar hero 2. With original songs like Welcome to the Jungle and One, you can rock out hard.

The guitar. Well, i didnt use it more than 3 or 4 songs, but it feels a lot smoother than the 360 guitar from gh2. the buttons have less play in them, and i think its a little harder to push them in but not much. The black les paul is just amazing looking, but i feel that the body of the guitar is a little too thick. Another good thing is the detachable neck so the guitar can be stored easier. However, things that detach can sometimes get loose or wobbly with more usage. We will have to see if the neck stays tight over time.

I also think that load times have been cut down a lot, but it was 4am while i was playing so maybe i just imagined it.

if you loved guitar hero 2, you will love this game. Each time a new GH comes out, its better than the last.

i heard there are guitar problems with buttons not workings. likely cause is the detachable neck.

BetterOffDead pwns without cheats!
My wife and me went out and picked it up at BestBuy during the midnight release. They had about 60 units for each console. We stayed up playing it most of the night.

We bought the Wii version and its pretty sweet. I played about 25 songs last night and it seems pretty cool. I never owned the previous version (played GH2 on PS2 once), but I've been playing a modded version of Frets on Fire that has all the songs and tabs of GH1 & GH2 for more than a month. My main problem was adjusting to spaced out fret buttons compared to the F1 - F5 keys...lol.

Last night I was even able to own some noob online during a ranked faceoff match of "Paint it Black". Now if they would only release the individual guitars for sale so I can rock out with my wife in Coop mode!

GH was not one of the games that I would have ever dreamed of playing. But, the demo was good so i figured wth I'll give it a shot and i love it. I have had no problems with the guitar as of yet.

Heck I got Guitar Hero 3 a day early thanks to Blockbuster Breaking Street Date I am on the last set of songs atm, I just failed one because it's uber slow at start and then picks up out of nowhere.

Has anyone had any problems with their guitars? Mine was working fine, but i notice when the action gets fast and furious I tend to pull a tad on the neck which causes a connection problem with the base which = missed notes etc...

all i know is that i feel the old gh2 guitar works better when playing really fast parts. it might be the detachable neck or a wireless delay, but im back to using the old guitar. friends use the new one.

anyone beat raining blood on expert yet? its my last song before i get to play the devil.

I haven't played through expert yet, but I had some real trouble getting through that first Mosh part with all the scaling up the fretboard (it seemed almost off sync)

I don't have the new GH3 controller but I like it for the weight and button feel (from the demo unit I played)
