A New Day, A New Year, And New Shopkeepers At StrafeRight

As many of you know, I'm moving on in life with yet more responsibilities
that have been, and will continue to, take my time away from SR as far as a
visionary and administrative role. The same can be said for those who have
always been an integral part of the website's graphical, communal, and
technical directions in the past five years. No one is leaving, but life is forcing many of us to make prioritization decisions in our lives.

With that said, I'll cut to the chase... the time has come for a change here at StrafeRight, and we believe that we have found the right people to take this website, and all of the wonderful members, that are in essence THE site, to the next level.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Brian (kanebr) and David
(MisterX) as the new proprietors of StrafeRight.com. Brian will be more of
the backend administrator for the website while David will be your main
contact on the forums going forward. David is much like us, he is a huge gamer and will be the voice of the community to the new ownership group.

Understand that these people did not make the rather significant investment that was buying StrafeRight to simply run it into the ground. In fact, the last thing they want to do is make any moves without first taking polls around the community to see what you, the members (and essence) of the site, think first. They understand that StrafeRight is nothing without the great members and anon lurkers that have fueled the site's considerable growth over the years. The last thing they want to do is take anything away from that experience for all of us. I trust entirely in the fact that they want nothing more than to continue making SR a great place to hang out online. I would not have moved forward with the sale if I smelled any kind of funny business afoot. I have spent quite a bit of time in Skype with them and get the sense that they're really good people with nothing more
than the desire to make great things in life.

I will continue on as a member of SR as will everyone else you know has been
a part of the site's core of leadership of the last few years. This will
simply allow me to step back and be a more involved father, husband, and
grad school student as time goes on.

I would like to take a moment to reflect upon how much StrafeRight and its
members (people I consider my friends) have meant to me over all of these
years. You've all brought so much humor into my life and I
thank each and every one of you for all of your various contributions to the
great internet soup that is StrafeRight.com, and for all the LOLs over the years.

So here's to the new owners, the members, the lurkers, the spammers, and all
of the things that make StrafeRight what it is today. This is not the end of the last five years, but the beginning of the next.

Sad to see you taking a step back, Craig, but it's great to see you have your priorities straight. If you need anything (babysitter, etc) let me know! And if you're going to be online less I hope we'll get more opportunities to hang out IRL, especially since we'll probably be moving within the year!

Thanks for everything you've done, and welcome Brian and David!

Good luck in all your future endeavors, Craig! I've seen forum sites change hands before and all I can say is, I hope the new stewards are hands-on.

Welcome Brian (kanebr) and David (MisterX). Hopefully you'll both join us in teamspeak and chat it up with the regulars. You can join in the flavor of the month too! BFBC2 Vietnam seems to be it for January.

So long Craig and not goodbye. I'm not done fragging you yet.

Where ARE these new owners? We have the obligatory pink wigs with which to adorn them.

weird, I thought this place pretty much just ran itself

Family is always #1 and I'm glad Craig is prioritizing that above all else (except maybe Steve Jobs).
