I'm all about small ads here and there that help support the site. I'll even click them here and there to keep the pennies flowing. As long as they're not obtrusive, G2G.
You may have noticed that since the update there are adverts showing on certain pages and forum pages; if you are not logged in you will see more adverts throughout the site.
Over the coming months we'll be trying out different things, e.g. we'd really like to get a page for mini browser games.
We think ads (well, relevant ads) have a role to play in StrafeRight, but we don't want these to detract from the user's experience - so if you spot something you like/don't like or have any other ideas or feedback please let us know.

All this has happened before and will all happen again.

Please just make sure that any of the ads around don't play music/video or do the pop-up hover. Other than that, I'm fine with them.
I agree with the previous 2 posts.
Good points and yes we'll avoid the playing of music/video or popping up when your mouse goes anywhere near the ad.

Thank you for even considering what the longstanding members here think.
It's important that you know what is happening on the site, you know the history of StrafeRight and can shout if you know that we're going to try something that's already been tried and failed or you have input into how something can be improved.

As long as I have anything to do with Sr There will be NO Pop over/under ads or needlesly noisy or obtrusive ones either.
They should be subtle, and above all relevant.
The cold hard fact is the site needs to generate income of some sort. But this doesn't need to be a pain in the proverbial.
So some ads and maybe some affiliate schemes (for things you would probably buy anyway) will go some way towards that.
As we experiment there may be some that fall wide of the mark. One thing is certain, you wont be slow in letting us know..
