GameStore goes live week commencing 3rd October

The gamestore is going to be with us in a few days, just now it's looking like the early part of the week!

A discount has been arranged with City Interactive titles, more details to follow once we're live.

Darn my eternal optimism, hadn't counted on the "Hello Kitty" plugin clashing with "Barbie's outfit generator", glitter and sparkles everywhere - not a pretty sight.

The GameStreamer team are getting a new update through tomorrow (Wed) for testing with a plan to get it live on Thursday.

And we're on for a go live tomorrow morning(EDT)

You'll see a new tab appear to the right of the Albums one at the top of the screen when it's live

At that point you will be able to see privacy/terms and conditions links and just post up or pm me your questions - if I don't know the answer I'll get them asked on.

So who benefits from this?

Users of the store will benefit from reviews entered by others, occasionally access to some games ahead of time to review them like the Off-Road Drive one (and once we're live we should get more advance notice) and discounts on some games. GameStreamer will contact game publishers for StrafeRight if there is a game that you want that you don't see on the store.

Sales made through the store provide a revenue share back to StrafeRight which will be used to benefit the site with things like BF3 servers. I'm just using BF3 as an example - BF3 servers are not dependent on the store's performance.

More traffic to the forums should increase membership and activity, and I would assume some profit from the site will also translate into good things for sR as a whole, like game servers for BF3 etc. I think everyone will benefit from this.
