I was interested in purchasing a scanner, and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about them, which companies are good, which to stay away from, ect. or if you know any reliable websites that compare computer peripherals that would be great too! thanks yo.

Newegg.com, like everything else, has a great selection of scanners, but I have to ask how much are you looking to spend and what other features need your scanner have?

What exactly are you looking for in a scanner? Unless you need a really hi-res scanner for a specific function, you might as well buy a cheap multifunction unit. Most multifunction printers have integrated network cards, so you can connect it to your home network and scan to anyone of your pc's.

i was looking at canon flatbeds, but i think i may get one with a printer too. im looking between 100 and 200 dollars.
24-4800 dpi is preferable, but im going to look at the multi function ones later.
