| | | So far the game is good. I haven't had a chance to play it vs' yet, which is really where it shines. A shit ton of characters and some amusing levels.
The single player arcade mode is a bit cheesy. The CPU juggles the crap out of ya. (it could be that I'm a bit rusty with the ol' Tekken skillz) Not sure if adding more juggles is good or bad. I do like how they tried to balance it with rage damage though. The bosses are total horse shit. I hate when they take a good fighter and add such crappy boss fights.
I haven't tried the weird campaign / beat'm up game yet. It never really appealed to me in the past Tekken games. I'm enjoying how some toons have different/additional moves...tons of fun discovering more stuff with King.
Definitely glad it has an install to HD feature to speed up load times. |

| | Interesting.
I'm getting it soon to get my Tekken fix. The seems to parallel what you've said about the game.
I bet that end boss who from the previews I've seen looks like an Ice Dragon will be cheapass. The end boss in SFIV was controller breaking with any character less than Ryu.
The install is 4GB, but the load times are pretty bad (for a fighting game) without it, so it's worth it.
Tried out Lars yet?

| | | The guy is some Anubis/Osiris rip off, the whole game revolves around similar nonsense like in 3 (with Ogre), except this time its Egypt.
For the Record when playing on Arcade Cabinets, they typically turn the difficulty up to Very Hard, so those less than Pro have to pour quarters or swipes into the machine to finish the game.
The game will be win, I've been playing it on Arcade for the past year (on a South Korean Cabinet, because they did not release a US Cabinet) and arcade alone is enough to keep me going, the massive amounts of customizations they've added gives u pretty much free reign with your fighter, you can make King look like Nacho Libre, Jin like a Yakuza Crimelord, Heihachi a samurari, etc...

| | | yea, the customizations seem solid from the ones I've seen. I found they have a Ghost Play that awards game money and it's a lot better then just playing arcade. With Ghost you don't have to fight the bosses.
Overall a pretty fun game. I got a chance to play vs' with a buddy last night. He isn't too into tekken. The whole juggle system is a bit wonky IMO. He was button mashing and still able to juggle me to half health a few times...same goes for the AI. I think the rage meter kicks in around 10% health. It would be cool if it kicked in around 20% or so ... when you are fighting a tough AI opponent it has a habbit of juggling you through the rage and it doesn't end up helping at all.
There may be a way to stop the air juggles (besides getting the block before they start) ... not quite sure yet. I haven't found a way to break them. |

| | | There is, hold the d-pad (or stick if u use a Arcade Pad) in the opposite diagonal direction, so like push it away from where your opponent is hitting you.

| | | Haven't tried online yet, but probably played a few hundred vs' matches so far. Overall a fun ass game so far. Solid followup. My only big complaint is the shotty collision detection at times. It seems to happen more when we sidestep. It probably only happened like 5 times out of 100 vs' matches, but when it did it was pretty noticeable.
ex. I was King fighting Law. My buddy sidestepped and I threw a kick. Since it was the kick that won the match, it did the reply. He was probably 3' away from me and the contact graphic for the kick appeared like 3' past where his toon stood before he sidestepped. |

| | Randomly ended up with a big Tekken 6 poster after going to my local game store (also got a Mario/Sonic Winter Games, and Forza 3 poster).

| | | I would rate this game about a 8.5, the Scenario Campaign mode (the new Tekken Force) is terribad--at least I earned enough money in it to buy one of the Aura items (heavily overpriced btw).
Every other mode is what you've seen before in a Tekken series, and they are good.
I kind of wish I had to unlock the characters, but then again, Azazel is annoying with a character you're not familiar with.
Speaking of Azazel, fighting him at the end of Scenario mode (not really a spoiler, what did you expect?)... is much different than regular modes. You almost need your partner to distract him so you can be a cheapass on him while he's distracted. I can kill him in regular fighting with juggle + big combo, rinse repeat.
Yeah Ghost mode is real cool, but if you want to earn real money.. you gotta play that shitty Scenario mode.
Anyone played Nightmare Train on Scenario mode yet? It's unlocked after you beat it. You will need Rank A and S items on BOTH characters to even beat it, stupidass Demon things gang-rape you.
The graphics are very sub-par, I expected more from the game. | | |
