While it has a few details cut due to hardware limitations, I find this the best MK home port I've seen and played. Graphics and gameplay closely match the original, all speech and sound effects are there. Downside, a few background animations lost, backgrounds have been flattened and a bit shortened. Music is midi but not bad.
Super NES: Stupid clean entertainment Nintendo back then censored it and with that messed the combo system. Graphics were almost arcade perfect.
Genesis: Spot on with the violence, arcade perfect play. Washed down graphics, missing character frames, but for the Genny it was good, lots of speech and details missing.
Sega CD: Slightly better, more frames and more arcade details, music is straight from the arcade. Still smaller sprites, not arcade perfect. Load times may slightly pause the game when executing fatalities and when playing against Shang Tsung.
GBA: Do I really need to say it? (sucked btw)
PC and Amiga: almost arcade perfect, still a few flaws regarding controls and graphics looked a bit washed down compared to the arcade.
Xbox 360, PS2 and PSP: Heard they have a few flaws, good ports but not arcade perfect, given the much more advanced capabities of these machines one would expect a perfect port. (can someone clarify this? Haven't seen these ports but I'm going by online reviews here)
Why is it that Midway simply won't give us an arcade perfect port of MK??
