| Actually from the sound of it, the episodes are half life 3. Quote: |
When is a sequel not a sequel? When it's Half-Life 2: Episode One, the confusingly titled first new episode in a trilogy of releases that picks up the story where HL2 left off. So it's part two of Half-Life 2, but episode one of three of the second half of the story? Something like that. Even Valve boss Gabe Newell seems exasperated with trying to justify it. "We should have just called it Half-Life 3: Episode One, but it's a bit late now," he chuckles.

| | | Yeah, I'm definitely hoping for a full length sequel on a new graphics engine. |

| | | Yeah really - kinda crazy that HL2 has already been out that long. But yeah, they really "need" to put something out like HL3 that's next gen because after all those other games come out they're going to have a lot of competetion - which the only way they're going to be able to compete is the fact that it's part of HL2. There was a few scenes in the newer Crysis video that looked like vastly updated HL2 scenes (the levels where you were outside driving that buggy on the road between the mountains and the cliffs down to the ocean)... if somebody got a hold of that part of the Crysis video before it came out, edited it a bit, and stuck HL3 on it I would have believed it.
Though then again, they could be working on HL3 now and we just don't know about it. What was it? 7 or so months before HL2 was released that it was first announced publicly?

Anyway, I just read how a benchmark of Crysis got fps to average in the 20s (yes, twenties) using 1280x1024, no AA or AF and 2 8800 GTXs in SLI. scored a minimum of 0 (ZERO) in the upper resolutions. So I'm glad Source doesn't have those kinds of requirements

| | | Lol, yeah... looks like the crysis engine will be around for a VERY long time!
And I agree, even if HL2 has been out for a while its still an awesome engine (even more so now) and will make my computer chug if i turn everything all the way up.
