Mod/Map Creation

Hey,

A friend of mine, (Caplax) and myself have recently taken up a new game we designed in an empty assault server, and office. Im still unsure if it is already a mod, but hey whateva.

We call it Gun Seeker, but we are just doing some research on how maps are created, if we can create them ourselves, and how mods are created, and if they are created only through steam members.

Any advice would be great.

The Souce SDK has everything you need for map and mod creation... you can download it through steam under tools... be sure to check steams forums though there are some known issues right now with the latest release

source sdk includes hammer (where you make maps) and other tools to create the mod... but im not gonna lie its not easy and its very time consuming haha. theres plenty of hammer tutorials both in text and on videos on youtube and stuff... just search for them and they will help you out bigtime!
