Steam Reinstalling All Games

So for some random reason, my steam crashed. Then upon reboot it updated steam. Then once it updated, it lost all my games. It's tellimg me that I have to install all the games that I had on my computer, but I can browse through My Computer and clearly see that all my games are installed.

Any ideas?

Im having the same problem, just when i restart steam, my games are fine...DAM U STEAM

back up your .GCF files.

I'm backing them up now. I've deleated the .blob file, and restarted steam, it just downloaded all the updates and still told me that I didn't have the games downloaded. I'm hoping to hear back from steam soon about it, as this happened around midnight and my computer is still downloading CS.

It's just frustrating becuase I've got the games, I just can't tell steam where to look for them. All the options are grayed out because it thinks they aren't there.

Thanks for the help though. Let me know if you have any more ideas.

got a response from Steam:

Hello,

Please run a search for clientregistry.blob, and platform.gcf on your system, then delete all files found. Once complete, run Steam from the /steam folder of the current installation.

I find this funny, because
A; there is no platform.gcf file in my steam account
and
B: I told them when I submitted the problem that I had already deleted the clientregistry.blob file...

So to humor them I looked for the platform. gcf flie, and deleted the client file, but no joy, still not working correctly.

got another response from steam, they wanted to know the size of my steamapps folder.

6.12 GB...

dude i still find that whole thing really weird after you explained it on vent. A copuple of friends and I sometimes get a screen saying we need to buy css, but we just restart steam and its fine. And valve stinks. They never have good advice. Hope you get it all worked out soon so we can scout some noobs on assault

I've finally got the program downloaded took over 24hrs

(But I was takiing my computer to class and stuff, so it wasn't downloading constently..)

I'm going to try and get on soon, after I reply to Valve...

Same happened to me... I just closed Steam, restarted and... after it updated itself, all my games were back. Downtime: 2 minutes
