Help!!! STUPID Valve/Steam Error *can't play =(*

I've been getting this stupid error message.

I tried looking it up on google and the official steam/valve website and the only answers I've gotten were to update my video drivers...

so that worked before, but now it doesn't seem to be working, and it's a re-occuring issue...

so I've updated to the new 7.1 catalyst and it still came up w/ the error, then tried w/ the new omega's...still did it...tried using some older drivers and still came up w/ the stupid error...

btw the error is IDirect3DDevice9::Present()

from the looks of it, I'm not the only one that has ran into this stupid and very frustrating error (and it seems like it only comes on the weekend when I have time to play CSS...so incredibly ghey to the maximus)

so any help would be greatly appreciated!

well, since it looks like a directx error i suggest you update directx

I had a similar error for a while. Something to do with DirectX on my end. I forced DirectX to run level 8 instead of 9 by typing "-dxlevel 80" in the command prompt. It's worked fine ever since.

i'll try those, even though when i reloaded DX9 the last time, it still gave me the stupid error...
