Vista+onboard+CS:S= 10fps?

So I got this laptop from walmart and want to play CS:S on it. So far no luck. It's an Acer Aspire 5610Z with 1 gig of ram and GMA950 onboard video. I heard a few things on this subject. Could be my ram and not enough, could be that the videocard needs better drivers but Vista is the problem, Or could be the onboard is just onboard and can't do anything about it. It so far plays Battlefield 1942 fine and Guildwars. I would love to play AVP2 on this puppy but it crashes and bluescreens me for some reason. Old game but I love it. Works fine on my desktop though but thats a whole lot better than this laptop. Anyways there's a list of games on intel Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset Family - Game Compatibility List
Haven't tried F.E.A.R. yet but if CS:S doesn't go over 10fps why would it be any better. Ok it's a lot to read but any help would be very grateful. Thanks

intel graphics chips are a joke. they'll play games that are less graphics intensive no problem but something like cs wont run.

onboard of any type won't play cs:s. even the decent integrated video solutions won't do it playably well.

trust me man your not the only one that bought vista and im sorry to say this but youd be better off with windows xp until 5 months to a year later when vista is more functional. if anyone has anything to add to this Vista vs. winXP war please introduce some facts, cause i dont feel like linking any sites and what not.

ps
hold onto your vista copy

So far even F.E.A.R. will run on low settings just fine. CS:S is the only game with 10 frames. I get 30fps in F.E.A.R. too with dx8 and pixel doubling off. I guess I might be waiting for Valve to do something or some kind of driver. Intel or valve has to do something about it. I hate to lug my desktop around to LAN Parties all the time. Might leave some messages to intel and valve while I'm at it.

lol, high end games like cs:s and bf2 are horrible on laptops. Laptops are really just not good for gaming unless they r made for that like the alienware (which is overpriced) and dell xps laptops. Laptops are only good for mobility. Desktops ftw!

I would laugh if I reenabled the onboard ATI graphics on my desktop and got better framerate in CSS over my 7600GT...
