| | | server issues I can see great ping when I pull up the "servers" menu from my taskbar Steam icon, but as soon as I start up CS:S, all the pings go through the roof.
Why do I have 50 ping on the servers menu, and it immediately jumps to 250 on the Source menu?
bah!

| | | once i'm in, it's the same as the in-game browser (poor). I would figure it had something to do with my wireless setup, but I can't figure out why there would be such a drastic difference between the ingame browser and the desktop server browser.

| | | could be a bandwidth cap you're hitting. In game, you're transmitting a lot more data than just a ping request.
However, that really doesn't explain why the steam game browser would be different in and out of game.

| | | I'll do some more testing throughout the house, I just set up the desktop in a new area, so maybe I'm just not getting the router connection I need to keep the ping down.
