 : 92 nd | | | userconfig.cfg couldn't execute... WTF?!
When I click on options, and go to voice, I set Voice Transmit lower because it picks up too much background noise, and sounds distorted. I also set the Boost Microphone gain lower too.. when I click apply, then save... it doesn't do jack! I open up console and it says
couldn't exec userconfig.cfg
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/config.cfg

.... WTF is this? This is why I hate installing Steam/Valve updates... it always screws something up.
I even created a userconfig.cfg and it still didn't work. Is this normal? Because I searched the forum for anything similar, even did a google search and nothing.. Some people had the same issue but no one answered them...
maybe this is a noob question, but I am a noob.. Started playing CS in January.. been playing Half-Life 1 and 2 for like 4 years... never thought Counter-Strike: Source would've been so addictive lol..
Can anyone help this noob out.

and no, my config isn't set to read only.. It would've came up in console as "Couldn't execute config.cfg, file is read-only!"
and plus, I just checked.. it's not set to read only...
I think the recent update messed things up... WTF
If anyone is using anything older than Windows XP... I'm sorry, but you better upgrade lol
I will never get Windows Vista.. ever.. I've tested it out.. and ... me no like. (I don't like it--spelled it right for those who think I can't spell)

| | | userconfig.cfg is from 1.6, it's autoexec in Source. Just ignore it, it's been like that since Source came out.
voice_scale = Voice Receive Volume. Max is 1 Min is 0
Apparently there is no cvar for Voice Transmit Volume, couldn't find anything. Mess with your mic settings in Windows and see if you can fix it there. |  | |
