vsync error?

ever since the update (well, havent played in a few weeks so something else could have happened), i'm getting some weird error where there is a horizontal line across the screen about 2/3 the way up where the pixels don't align correctly. It only happens when im moving around or something. This makes it impossible to aim. Had to play with it in the match and got owned. That's a different story though

Anyway, trip said it was a vsync error but I really have no idea what it is and am just going by what he said.

EXex loves playing with their D-key!
VSync = forces video card to only swap it's buffers (one is the buffer the display is showing you and the other is the buffer where a new frame is being drawn by the video card) after a refresh of the display. This prevents parts of 2 different frames from being drawn on the same display (no swap in the middle of a display refresh). If framerate is lower than the refresh rate of the monitor, there usually isn't any noticable disjoints, but if it exceeds it even by a little it can (and probably will) cause it to do that. It's mostly noticable when you rotate your view while looking at any horizontal lines (wall corners etc).

Maybe you were just getting higher than normal framerates or your display refresh rate is being set lower than normal when you start CSS.
