Side button on Deathadder mouse CSS voip

I assigned mic transmit button to mouse4 on the side of my razer deathadder, that i just bought today, but there is this stupid 1 second, sometimes 2 second delay from when i press the side button to when it actually starts transmitting.

I upgraded to newest driver version for teh mouse 1.05, and there are no new firmwares, but it still does it

Any ideas?

Hmmm...could be your sound card not liking the setup. Do you have the latest sound drivers installed?

i think it is a problem with cpu usage. 1000 mhz polling rate + css cpu hog with steam also open = lag when you hit that button. here is stuff i found over at razer blueprints.

"try turning your polling rate down to 500hz and see if it works then. this would also explain why your mx518 doesn't have this issue (it runs at 125hz usualy but can be cranked up to 500hz). at 1000hz some (if not most) usb ports can't process the tons of data thats being transferred resulting in issues as you explained."

like i told you in game it works instantly for me it has to be your lag situation or you sound card like craig said

Read this guide: Razerblueprints - the razer community - READ THIS FIRST: DeathAdder Guide

It tells you how to update the firmware to 1.10 (1 click process)

Other than that it tells you how to set the Razerhid.exe process to AboveNormal (you probably know how to do this thru task manager, but theres a way to make a .bat do it on startup automatically)

It does this on my machine to, so setting the razerhid.exe process to abovenormal fixes it (it doesnt need to be set to High probably, just AboveNormal)

Make sure you update the firmware in addition to setting the razerhid process priority (there is an updated firmware... its on razerzone.net)

You should run firmware 1.10 with driver 1.05 i believe

Let me know if you have further trouble, take a quick scan through the rest of the guide but that should take care of your problems

OH: BTW: Install this mousefix it disables mouse Accel, and read Yankee's Source 101 "Getting Started" guide, it's stickied in the CSS forum, tells you how to set heapsize and ensure mouseaccel/mouseparms is disabled in the Steam/CSS command line

All this takes 5 minutes total, run through the list and you're good to go

It should work fine with highest polling rate/DPI too

You can also try to, after starting up CS, setting the steam process to low priority. (make sure HL2 process stay at normal though)

You don't wanna do that for a game mate =D

(the problem Fish describes is experienced by many Deathadder users with older CPU's, but this solution will fix it with no ill effects, as Razer's described)

I do it all the time. If I dont steam fooks with my FPS. I said make sure the HL2 process is normal because thats the game process. The steam process doesnt affect that

Ok, well i dont think my cpu is a problem. Athlon 64 2.6 ghz.

And the sound drivers are what i thought first, but i do have the latest version.

Firmware 1.10 came with the RAzer Cd, so ive already got the latest
