hi 43long,
Well first I would make sure your video card's drivers and your sound card's drivers are both up to date. Check either Nvidia or ATi for your video card and whoever makes your sound card for that.

Start there and see if that helps...if it doesn't then check to make sure your machine is dust free and isn't overheating.

It might have been the server. The freeze up has happened to me as well. It's like a 5 second lag spike, but nothing to what you're experiencing. This sounds like a problem on your end.

Post your entire system specs so we can get to the bottom of this. Operating system, memory, CPU, etc.. try to be real specific please. Thanks.

Only thing that I see that alarms me is the power supply... and that might be the source of your problems.

Have you tried restarting your modem/router etc?

I'm going with sonic. I think it might be your power supply. If you can I would buy a more powerful power supply. Often it will work when your doing stupid sh!t that isn't very graphics intensive but when you try to play a game it draws more power which can cause a freeze/ restart. Hopefully that helps.
