strafeRight.com .:. CS:S Shed Rules and Guidelines
In order to keep things flowing smoothly with regards to gameplay and overall server content, we will be strictly enforcing the rules listed below. This is not to be stone breakers, it is to ensure our game servers are a clean, cheat free, fun, fast paced and competitive place to play your favorite FPS games.
We have some great admins (and are always scouting for more!) that are even handed and extremely involved in the everyday goings on of the servers. Treat them fairly and they will do the same. Feel free to contact any of them (contact links below) if you see someone breaking the rules set forth below.
Cheating/Hacking:
Cheating of any kind (including 'Rate Hacking') is absolutely not acceptable and will be met with an immediate and permanent ban from all StrafeRight servers...and even these forums in some cases.
Voice Communication Conduct:
No we won't ban you for speaking another language...but we will ban you for using foul language for no other reason than to be rude. The occasional four letter word pops out in intense games...we understand...but we ask that you not use explatives over the Voice Comm or in chat text ingame when possible.
Mic spamming is another violation that will land you in the Sin Bin for an unspecified amount of time that is purely up to the Admin that slaps you down. Use the Mic for directing team play...not for discussing the atomic mass of mercury.
We have a free Ventrilo server for anyone to use at anytime. Please direct yourself into one of the empty channels if you'd like to spew the four letter words between yourself and your friends. Feel free to let it fly in Ventrilo, but please keep the in-game voice com as clean as possible.
Team Stacking:
This is not a place for clans to practice. While we higly encourage clans to play on our servers, we ask that they (and everyone) spread out the talent as evenly as possible to ensure maps are not total blowouts. Admins reserve (and will use) the right to switch people from team to team without any notice if they feel teams are uneven and effecting gameplay in a negative way. Some of our servers use a Team Balancing Mod. Please let this mod do its work.
Camping:
Let's clear this up right now...there are certain times it is acceptable to camp. If you're a counter-terrorist on a Defuse map, it's perfectly OK to camp/guard the bombsites. If you're a terrorist on a hostage map, its OK to guard/camp the hostages. If you're a Terrorist on a defuse map and you're camping the spawn...you will be burned to a crispy tender strip of steak by an Admin and will risk being kicked/banned for an unspecified amount of time that said Admin feels is acceptable. Just keep the games moving please.
Sprays:
No porn or otherwise indecent sprays are allowed at anytime. We do not consider bikini gals or calendar models porn but will draw the line at nudity of any kind. If you could see the spray in a Sports Illustrated swimsuit magazine its fine...if you could see the spray in a Larry Flint publication, take it somewhere else please...and wash your hands when you're done.
Racist and Violent Remarks:
Absolutely, positively no racist or threatening remarks of any kind are allowed. There is no second chance on this one. Instant and permanent bans will be given out for anyone breaking this rule.
Names:
No profane or sexually explicit name are allowed. You will be asked once to change your name. Once.
Advertising:
Advertising of any kind is not allowed. End of story.
AFK:
If you have the need to step away from your keyboard for a
few minutes, please have the courtesy of going into Spectator mode. Any idling players in game for more than a round or two, that are not spectating, will be kicked.
Overall Conduct:
We ask that you approach this server as you would any public place with regards to your overall conduct. Imagine you're a guest in someone's home. And imagine that person is also a guest in your home. Use your better judgement and you'll do just fine
Want To Be An Admin?:
Administration rights are by invitation only. You can be nominated by the community but please do not solicit inquiries to us to become an admin. If you've got the stuff, we'll know it. We generally look for level headed, team players that are not stat happy and are always looking for an even and competitive match. Once you become an admin you give up stats for the overall betterment of the game...so think wisely before you wish

We greatly appreciate all of the effort put out by admins, mods, programmers, members, lurkers, moms, dads and aunt Edna's on a daily basis. Without all of you this place would be a big bore.
