Again with the gay topic

Listen guys, I know I made that big thread about homosexuality in the sR community and stuff, and I appreciate all that everybody has done to accommodate the situation.

Well, that's all well and good, but it seems that what I have done has led to an almost Police-state of zero tolerance towards any mention of sexuality, and sexual acts. This was not what I was getting at when I made that thread. I made the thread to shed light on the fact that gamers come from all walks of life, and that some of them just happen to be homosexual, who enjoy going shopping for games, instead of going shopping for clothing and whatnot.

And while you guys have been more than great about the whole situation, it seems now that you're walking on egg shells to not mention these words, and that any mention of it gets a talk from an admin, or worse, banned from the servers.

While you cannot change the fact that 'gay' has become synonymous with unfortunate events in the gaming world, neither can anybody else, for that matter, and anybody with half a brain should understand this.

Now, you guys know (At least the ones I play with on Office and the people in vent) I'm a very easy going guy, and I can take a tasteful, well delivered gay joke just as well as anybody else.

Remember that there is a difference between 'That was gay' and 'Fuck you, ******', and I know this, I know this more than most people.

I'm going to stop myself right there from getting too off topic, and just say that it's okay to make jokes and stuff, it's alright to say whatever you want, however you want.
But like everything, there's a line between malice and a joke, and I know that you guys know that line, but it seems that you're too afraid of even saying anything about the subject in good fun, and that's not right.

I don't know if that's a pure coincidence or if the ads are chosen depending on what the thread titles says.

It's called "Targeted Advertising" by Google AdSense.

It scans the page for keywords and uses them to decide what type of ads to display.

As for the whole "gay" topic. We realize that there is a certain "line" to cross where it gets offensive, and anything before that is considered playful banter. However, when the words "gay" and "queer" come up every 10 seconds when certain people are talking, then it's much more likely that this person might cross that line, so I'd rather preemptively let them know that they should tone it down than wait until they slip up and offend someone, because once you do cross that line, it becomes a slippery slope for most people.
