CS not working?

So when I go to play the preparing to launch game tab pops up, but after its done loading the tab just dissapears and the game never loads. No clue what to do, this has been going on for about an hour now, I've tried a variety of things, nothing seems to work.

Check to make sure that you have appropriate video drivers. That's a common reason the game won't load. Or you may try reinstalling or maybe just reboot?

Is this for CS 1.6 or CS:S ?

I've encountered that problem with 1.6.. I just deleted my cstrike folder and reloaded the game and it worked.

Restart computer? Today I had HL2.exe stuck. If that process is running, you can't play any source games, because all the games run as the process HL2.exe and it won't allow 2 copies of the process to be running.

Check video drivers, verify local files. My games -> Game -> Properties -> Verify Game Cache
(Or something like that)

That's about all I can think of right now.

Yea, I just switched from vista to Xp so I needed to download the new drivers. Thanks anyways.
