Bsod? Lol

OK, game was running smooth as fuck. Getting above 30FPS with everything on High @ 1680x1050 resolution. No lag, everything running smooth as possible. Surprising me in every way. The graphics are like no other.

So I'm up to the part where the satellite link is broken and I have to fix it or something like that.. so as I climb the mountain, I cloak myself and kill the 2 guys.. then the other guy triggers an alarm and I'm getting shot from every angle.. for some reason, my ammo was gone (I had 140 bullets to spare) and all of a sudden it was empty.. as I tried to cloak again (it runs out) I got a BSOD (blue screen of death).

When my system rebooted I got these error msgs.

Should I update to the beta drivers Craig linked us to in his Crysis demo release thread?

I want to play this baby.. it's beautiful and it runs great contrary to what others have been claiming. I swear I was constantly getting over 30fps at all times.

Try those drivers...you can always go back if you have issues with them beyond Crysis

i ran the demo with an AMD x2 3800, no problems.

I also dropped down to 1gb RAM to use in one of my other machines. still no problems.

Driver update to the ones Craig linked me to worked like a charm.

AI is pretty dumb.. and game is pretty easy especially considering your energy restores itself.

Very nice graphics though

I was using fraps to record my fps in-game.. and took some screenshots.. but for some reason the damn value didn't show on the screenshots

I was getting 45fps on some instances, 40 on others.. it really averaged out to about 30 fps with 21 fps being my minimum.. and that was in some intense combat with like 10 people and in a big area.

I don't know though.. I feel like buying the game.. but shit.. lol

This is weird I'm u sing the nvidia graphics drivers from September 18th,
The beta drivers messed everything up for me it also put my windows index at 3.0 instead of 4.8
when it was 3.0 the graphics was the lowest instead of the highest
I run this game on medium at 1280x1024 this game is Gorgeous!!!
Relly do you have the full version of fraps? Can you please PM me if you do? thanks

I doubt you're getting over 30 with everything on High and 1680x1050. Considering people with 8800 Ultras and Q6800 processors are only averaging 35fps with everything on high.

30fps is not smooth, either. Smooth = medium settings where you can (usually) hold a steady 55-60ish fps.

With my C2D at 3.4ghz and 8800 GTS at 600mhz/1000mhz, I can average about 26 fps in 1680x1050 with everything on high. I've seen it jump up to the mid 30's but it never stays there. The intro scene where the plane flies by runs at about 14fps. Various scenes in the game can drop it to 18-low 20's.

Smooth to me is maintaining a solid FPS that never raises or lowers. A 100% consistent 30fps would be smooth. Something that lowers to 22 and raises to 32 and averages at 26 is not smooth.

If you leave everything at high and lower some of the settings to medium or low, you can achieve a pretty stable FPS. Although, personally, I want a minimum of 60fps to enjoy a game. They're just not responsive otherwise.

Oh, and the AI is terrible. It's almost more fun to mess with the AI and see how stupid they are than it is to kill them. They're just so weird and interesting. The game is still easy on the hardest skill setting. The only differences between the difficulties is that the harder the difficult, the more Korean and less English they speak.
