Diablo 1 was at least innovative, and had a definite creepy vibe to it. Diablo 2? Democracy at work, kids. Democracy at work.

What are you talking about man... Final Fantasy is THE RPG series. Final Fantasy is practicaly what defines an RPG and the mother/father of all RPGs. If you want to see what a true RPG is, take a look at Final Fantasy 1.
Diablo is an "action" RPG, since it is not a turnbased RPG, like most traditional RPGs. Half-Life is in no way an RPG, no way. |

| | | The final fantasies are a movie you press x through. The key trait of an RPG is having an effect on the outcome of the game. The idea is creating a character and playing a role. I want to be someone I make, not Cloud. |

| | | Isn't seven considered the peak of the series? It definitely was indicative of the way the series was progressing. What it originally may have been may have been different, but the direction they are currently taking it I do not believe to be a positive thing for RPGs. |

While there would be arguments that 7 is the peak, mainly because that is when they changed to 3D, I believe most FF fans (the real ones, not the little kids whos first FF game was any of the games 7-11), would say that FF6 was the peak.
Great RPG, great story line, etc.
Oh and I will admit that the new FFs meaning... X, X-2, have been just like a movie. Run for a while and bam movie, fight once, and bam movie. |

| | esh, 6 was the pinnacle, hands down .
but fallout series is far more innovative. I mean come on. I still remember the first time I single handedly took down the whole raider camp in the first one... 3 frag grenades and burst fire for the win. And who can forget sticking it to those smarmy vault city chumps in the second :P ahh... curse interplay for killing fallout3, |

Eh, maybe not, as they have gone on to make other games, which I have enjoyed very much(Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil). Still, that setting remains my favorite to date, and it would be cool if it were done right again by the original team. |

Didn't Penny Arcade do a comic about ti when it happened?
Edit: Checked Penny Arcade, they did one about Fallout Tactics ranting about Amazon... but not Fallout 3.
