Far Cry Quick Save

Just bought the full version and it is great but I cant find the quick save key. Is there one on this game? I keep getting killed and I hate having to start over everytime. Thanks.

You can go to the console and save the game from there to a particular file name. I think you have to be in DEVMODE to be able to do this.

when i played the demo you had to reach a certain point and it saved automaticly i dont know if the retail version is same or not i would assume so

Yeah, the retail game has checkpoint automatic saves. I don't know if there is a way to save manually, though. I wish there was, as I hate checkpoint saves. Save anywhere feature should be mandatory for PC games IMO. (Not so I can save every 5 secs, but so I can stop playing whenever I want and save right then.)

I read somewhere they were going to put out a patch to allow quicksaves but I do not think it is out yeat.

I think you can type SAVE gamesave or LOAD gamesave in console, but that might be a bit annoying to type every time... Maybe you can bind it to a key; I'm not sure because I don't have the game.

I got this from the far cry forums off the ubisoft site. To save, hit the ~ key (its under the escape) to bring up the console, then type in save, tab, then enter. While your saving, the action is still going on around so save when you are in a safe place.

By the way, did I mention that the game is f***ing awesome. :dude: :dude:

Tried this and it works:

Hit the ~ (tilde key next to 1) to bring up the console and type "\save_game" without the " ". Similarly, you and type "\load_game" without the " " to load the last save.

This is a bit of a hassle, but it is better than relying on checkpoint saves.

And yes, the game is awesome.
