Half Life 2

Does anyone know how well Half Life 2 will run on this laptop:

Emachines m6809
2.0 GHz
AMD Athlon 64
ATi mobility radeon 9600
Processor 3200+
512 Mb RAM
80 GB

Thanks a lot, I really want to get both Half Life 2 and Far Cry (mostly HL2), so any info will help!! PS...anyone know how to change the resolution manually for DooM3? I read some posts talking about the cfg. folder, but don't know where that is! Thanks again!!

since HL2 is supposedly optimized for ati cards, that emachines will run it nice n smooth. Expect to be able to play on medium settings at something like 1024x768.

if you're looking for the doom 3 config folder, go to program files -> Doom 3 -> base and open the DoomConfig file with notepad. I think that's what you're looking for, gl

Open up the DoomCfg with notepad.
Here's how mine reads:
seta r_customHeight "800"
seta r_customWidth "1280"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_mode "-1"

Look for the this section in the cfg and make the exact same adjustments. Good luck!
