War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I played this beta about two weeks ago. I agree that it is like BF2 mixed with Quakewars. But in my opinion it is a wannabe game.
BUT .... it is a "Good" wannabe game. Though I've only played for a very short amount of time. I need to play some more. I played two maps. The first map was very wide open like a true bf2 map. I didn' like this very much because soldiers just became tank fodder so it wasn't very fun and felt like more of the same. The other map I played was very Urban like Strike at Karkand. This is where the game excelled for me. You can control/pilot RC like helicopters and mini "Mars" rover like robots that deal out death like ninjas with Gatling Guns. This was really fun and was a totally different experience than the first map.
Also .. it helps to make sure your graphics are at the highest detail that your pc can play. I had a problem with the graphics options being set to high but were really appeared set to low in game. I reapplied and this fixed it.
Probably the most impressive thing to me was the audio. I really liked the punch of the weapons and the incoming fire sounds.
With a few tweaks this could be a decent BF2/Quakewars wannabe. Is it an innovative game? No. But that is not always a bad thing.

Also, I should note that you may not use this code in your own applications. If you want to reduce a variable by 89, you'll have to find another way to do it.
How can it not be? It's almost identical to Battlefield.
Squad based, capture points, classes, and kits. The only difference is that you get a second set of specialized kits where you can call in artillery or little remote controlled vehicles.
I don't see any mixture of Quake Wars with it at all.
