War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I bought this game yesterday because of this review and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed, the graphics are great and the game play is excellent. I played it until 12:30 last night ..... well shit there goes the few hours left that I did have reserved for sleep.

I play the game at a solid 60 FPS with vsync on and I'm impressed how well it runs. I have every graphic setting maxed out with the AA cranked up and it still performs beautiful. Considering DiRT ran like shit, they did an amazing job upgrading and tweaking the engine for GRID.
How are you liking it, Craig? I bought the game when it came out. I only did the first two tiers of racing and spent the rest of the time online. I've been starting to complete the regular racing events.
Anyway, I'd like to see an interview with the developers and have them discuss what changes they made to the DiRT engine to make the game so playable. GRID not only looks better than DiRT, but it performs incredibly. You can easily crank every setting up to the maximum and still get 45-60 FPS without an issue.
As for the racing, it's pretty easy still. It's nowhere near as difficult as true simulation racers. It's still an arcade game at heart. The game is really fun, though.
Here's a neat little save I did earlier.
Here's a bit better quality one I have on my own site: GRID Save
