September Game sales up 74% (thanks Halo)

Halo 3 drove up retail game sales 74% in September, and the Xbox console was up 91% from August to September, selling over half a million consoles, with probably 250,00 consoles selling just due to the Halo 3 title.

Also noted in the article is EA's revenue drop, which probably prompted the previous news article I posted in which EA is all annoyed that there is more than 1 console to code against.

BioShock for the 360 also went top10, along with god-knows how many Nintendo titles for the ever-popular DS.

Oh, and BTW, the Wii console sold almost as many units as the Xbox, even without a Halo-type game associated.

Sony reported it sold 17 PS3s in September.

(okay, that was a lie. it was 119,000)

If hotcakes was an empty shelf. I have YET to see one of these self-proclaimed Wii's. FEH

this means that a ton of XBox games will also be selling this fall. Bioshock was probably the second game that all those new X360 owners put in the shopping cart, next to Halo 3

probably did the same vs all other X360 games too tho (if you remove bioshock from the mix)

Yes, but when MS executives come out with press releases, they're not going to punk their own games, just Sony's.

i saw on the news in my history class that halo 3 sold more than the box office doubling it at 170 mill(for halo) to 80 mill(for box office) last week.
